A Lesson From Christopher Columbus

Down at the shore line, some are now experiencing the Water. Some are jumping in. Some are dangling a toe while claiming that they have it all. Some are trying unsuccessfully to cross the vast Ocean of the Spirit with vessels of their own designs or with no vessels at all. Others have begun to cross this Ocean in the vessel that is built according to the pattern that is so plainly shown in Scripture.

Our human weakness fails to see the vision of the higher, deeper, and broader expanses of God's truth.

When Columbus set sail, he was in the ocean the first day he left the port, but before he reached America, many were telling him to turn back. In the same way, many who are seeking the Truth today are refusing to even touch the Water of the Spirit. Some go far inland, away from the shore, so they don't have to see, hear, smell, taste, or feel this Water of the Spirit. Some of these may even go so far as to claim that there is no Water of the Spirit. From their remote position, they cannot observe the Spirit's existence. Others carefully protect some form of Water container where someone in generations past did enter the Water and brought a filled container back as proof. Of course, the Water in this container has long since dried up, leaving only the container, whether the container be a creed, a doctrine, a form, a ritual, an organization, or something else.

Of course, keeping one foot on the shore will accomplish nothing. Going half way will accomplish nothing. Any who would succeed must be willing to commit totally and continue on until they reach the mark of the high calling which is in Christ Jesus.

From Death To Life

From death to Life, from doubt to Faith,
From fear to Love, by mighty Grace,
Oh, people, move as I direct you into Light.
And never fear for I am here.
And, as you seek, I will draw near.
And, just ahead, you see the Kingdom shining bright.

It's given once for men to die,
So Christ has died to satisfy
The debt of sin and death that you could never pay.
The door of life is open wide.
Come in. Come in. Come and abide.
Take hold of Him, and pass from night into the day.

The Kingdom now is here for you.
The King is calling unto you.
Oh let the world fade away through His free grace.
Take hold of Life in Christ the Lord.
Rise up in Him. He is the Word.
Keep walking in; behold the glory of His Face.

Holiness

Holiness, completeness, the fullness of Jesus,
Into which God has called us if we walk in the Spirit
of the Lord, line on line and precept on precept,
Walking into the fullness of the glory of the Lord.

He is restoring a people who will serve Him, and
Who will worship Him in Spirit and in Truth
A holy Temple, a Nation, a New Creation
A Body, He's fashioning, a Garden full of fruit.

Oh! Lord, I pray for the fullness of Your coming, walking
Closer and closer until we see You face to face,
And there in the Holy of Holies You'll redeem our bodies.
Then we'll truly know You and the fullness of Your grace.

It's You Lord Who Works Your Works In Me

The work You did for me on Calvary, (Col 1:29)
It is enough to fully guarantee,
That from sin, I'll wholly be set free.
It's You Lord Who works Your works in me.

You have conquered animosity, (Heb. 2:14)
When You bore my sins upon the tree.
You've forgiven each atrocity.
It's You Lord Who works Your works in me.

In thankfulness, if I try to re-pay, (Isaiah 64:6)
If I bring works like filthy rags to Thee,
This is no gift, but if I yield to Thee,
Then, it's You, Lord, Who works Your works in me.

Just as I am without one single plea, (Gal 3:3)
That's how I must come and submit to Thee,
And to your faith and hope and love so free,
Which is You, Lord, Who works Your works in me.

My own works could never set me free. (Titus 3:5)
Flesh of mine has no capacity,
To please You, God, or end captivity.
It's You Lord Who works Your works in me.

It's not based on my ability. (Heb. 12:12)
It isn't judged on much activity,
But each work that starts and ends with Thee.
Is You Lord Who works Your works in me.

Not my own faith, but that which flows from Thee, (Romans 3:3)
My own hope is dissatisfactory,
Not my own love. but Your own charity,
Is You Lord Who works Your works in me.

By Your Spirit You have set me free, (Romans 8:2)
From all sin so I can always be,
Pure and good and manifesting Thee,
It's You, Lord Who works Your works in me.

All that's good and perfect comes from Thee. (James 1:17)
You abide as light inside of me.
Take away my flesh so totally,
That it's You Lord Who works Your works in me.

Bring each thought into conformity. (Romans 12:2)
Bring each action into harmony.
Let your Spirit all my portion be,
Then You, Lord, will work Your works in me.

Just by yielding now, oh Lord, to Thee, (Matt. 5:48)
You will give me total victory.
No more sinning? Now, how can it be?
It's You Lord Who works Your works in me.

SPIRIT OF SONSHIP

Abba Father, the Spirit of sonship cries;
'Tis deep calling unto deep.
Far, far beyond the scope of natural man lies
The sons' great eternal prize.

Naught but the Spirit of sonship
Can take the veil away;
Naught but deep calling to deep
Will bring in God's new day.

Night and day must the cry go forth
From deep down within,
Cleansing, purifying, changing till
I am fashioned just like Him.

Then in all His glorious fulness
I shall come.
Deep will call to deep, Abba Father,
I am Your son! Father, I am Your son!

The Hour Of Glory

The hour of glory is upon us,
His power revealed in the saints,
The hour when the saints will come to rule and reign,
Removing all fleshly constraints.

In Him we live and move,
And have our very being.
He abides in us and we in Him.

His glory is upon us.
His glory shines out from us,
The glory of the Only Holy One.

Glory, glory, glory,
The all surpassing glory,
The all surpassing glory of the Son.

Glory, glory, glory,
The all surpassing glory,
The all surpassing glory of the Son.
