A Lesson From Christopher Columbus

Down at the shore line, some are now experiencing the Water. Some are jumping in. Some are dangling a toe while claiming that they have it all. Some are trying unsuccessfully to cross the vast Ocean of the Spirit with vessels of their own designs or with no vessels at all. Others have begun to cross this Ocean in the vessel that is built according to the pattern that is so plainly shown in Scripture.

Our human weakness fails to see the vision of the higher, deeper, and broader expanses of God's truth.

When Columbus set sail, he was in the ocean the first day he left the port, but before he reached America, many were telling him to turn back. In the same way, many who are seeking the Truth today are refusing to even touch the Water of the Spirit. Some go far inland, away from the shore, so they don't have to see, hear, smell, taste, or feel this Water of the Spirit. Some of these may even go so far as to claim that there is no Water of the Spirit. From their remote position, they cannot observe the Spirit's existence. Others carefully protect some form of Water container where someone in generations past did enter the Water and brought a filled container back as proof. Of course, the Water in this container has long since dried up, leaving only the container, whether the container be a creed, a doctrine, a form, a ritual, an organization, or something else.

Of course, keeping one foot on the shore will accomplish nothing. Going half way will accomplish nothing. Any who would succeed must be willing to commit totally and continue on until they reach the mark of the high calling which is in Christ Jesus.

As For Me, I Shall Behold Thy Face In Righteousness

As for me I shall behold,
Thy face in righteousness,

As we all with open face,
Beholding as in a glass,

As we discern His Body, His Temple,
Each part set in their right place.
Though hidden from the world,
His glory is revealed,

To behold more and more of His face.

'Til His pattern is the only one.
The flesh shall all vanish,
In the light of His glory,
from glory to glory, transfigured by,
The Spirit of the son.

From Death To Life

From death to Life, from doubt to Faith,
From fear to Love, by mighty Grace,
Oh, people, move as I direct you into Light.
And never fear for I am here.
And, as you seek, I will draw near.
And, just ahead, you see the Kingdom shining bright.

It's given once for men to die,
So Christ has died to satisfy
The debt of sin and death that you could never pay.
The door of life is open wide.
Come in. Come in. Come and abide.
Take hold of Him, and pass from night into the day.

The Kingdom now is here for you.
The King is calling unto you.
Oh let the world fade away through His free grace.
Take hold of Life in Christ the Lord.
Rise up in Him. He is the Word.
Keep walking in; behold the glory of His Face.

God Had a Perfect Design

God had a perfect design,
When He brought you and I into mind,
Although we danced to the fiddle, of a religious riddle,
He held onto us all the time.

This pattern He is now bringing in,
Is the Corporate Man without sin,
We'll dance to a song that is new,
For His nature is forming, It's true!

Now Truth will win out every time,
What matters if others decline?
His purpose I know we will be,
For He's whittled a whole lot on me.

As we stand together so strong,
We'll return back where we belong,
A river that's flowing with life,
Destroying all death and all strife.

Here In My Heart

Here in my heart, create a holy zeal
For Thy great Kingdom and show me what is real.
Test all my thoughts and actions now with fire.
Lord let Your Kingdom be my one desire.

Error and sin, Lord, You can conquer these.
They fight the Spirit just like a dread disease.
O'r all that hinders, take authority.
Lord, hush my ranting mind. I must hear Thee.

Come, topple all the strongholds in my mind.
And any theory that makes my eyes go blind.
Cause me to see, and have a willing ear.
Dead form, I now renounce, so I may hear.

How many forms and doctrines can there be.
Idols of ego are man's theologies.
Let Your light shine on all I think I know.
Set me on Your foundation, there to grow.

Lord let me go where You would have me go.
Open Your Word by the Spirit's mighty flow.
Let me discern the five-fold ministry.
O, give the eyes of faith that I might see.

Holiness

Holiness, completeness, the fullness of Jesus,
Into which God has called us if we walk in the Spirit
of the Lord, line on line and precept on precept,
Walking into the fullness of the glory of the Lord.

He is restoring a people who will serve Him, and
Who will worship Him in Spirit and in Truth
A holy Temple, a Nation, a New Creation
A Body, He's fashioning, a Garden full of fruit.

Oh! Lord, I pray for the fullness of Your coming, walking
Closer and closer until we see You face to face,
And there in the Holy of Holies You'll redeem our bodies.
Then we'll truly know You and the fullness of Your grace.

How Would One?

How would one try to study God to understand His glory?
The wise have learned to seek His face as He unfolds His story.

How would one learn about the King who made this world we live in?
The wise all meet the King of kings and know by walking with Him.

How could one know about the Lord not wanting His direction?
The wise all let Him lead them on into His own perfection.

How could one try to make up God by human mind?s conceiving?
The wise all seek Him and His Word with faithful heart believing.

Abba Father, the Spirit of sonship cries;

To self I am dying,

The hour of glory is upon us,
His power revealed in the saints,

Removing all fleshly constraints.

And have our very being.

Until it's worked within your life, and that new creation born.

With Each Trial That Comes In Like A Flood

With each trial that comes in like a flood,
The vision of that firm, eternal hope
becomes more focused.
The voice of God that brings be faith
Is easier to hear.
And boastful human strength
Is shown to foolishly fall short,
Not reaching even near the mark
Of what creation needs.
And I am slowly letting go
Of worldly props and crutches,
And taking hold of Jesus Christ, my Lord,
The only real source of strength,
The only stable One.
There is no other.
